Beverly Hills celebrity plastic surgeon, Dr. Timothy Katzen, famously dubbed the “miracle doctor” when performing the body lift, is the best when it comes to the 360 circumferential body lift. A 360 body lift is a comprehensive procedure that addresses several of different cosmetic issues at the same time. This operation is a popular option for patients who are struggling with excess skin after weight loss. In addition to improving your appearance, a 360 body lift can also reduce your risk of skin rashes and infections. The 360 body lift will improve your overall health. If you are struggling with excess folds of skin in multiple areas, then you may be the perfect candidate for a 360 body lift. Excess skin can be an aggravating issue to deal with. Over-the-counter skin tightening products never produce long-term results. When an individual loses a large amount of weight in a short period of time, their body will not be able to shrink the skin into the correct position. Some of those skin laxity issues might fade over the next few years, but there is no guarantee that every fold of skin will disappear. That is one of the reasons why so many people are disappointed after undergoing fat removal procedures like liposuction. The primary goal of a 360 body lift is to reveal an individual’s ideal figure by removing excess skin. Are You Ready for the Consultation?

  1. Before you consider a lower body lift, your weight should be constant for three to four months within a range of two to three pounds.
  2. If you smoke, STOP. Ideally, you should be smoke-free for three to four months before a lower body lift.
  3. If you have uncontrolled diabetes, get it under control. Uncontrolled sugars negatively impact your healing.
  4. Continue to exercise and eat a balanced diet. These activities help your body preserve the muscle mass it needs to handle post-surgical metabolic demands.
  5. SLEEP! SLEEP! SLEEP! It is essential to get enough sleep to recover quickly.

Pockets of fat might be extracted during this operation, but the primary goal is to tighten and tone your skin. Before the body lift procedure is performed, you must be relatively close to your ideal weight. You should also be following a good diet and exercise program so that you don’t gain weight in the future. In the weeks leading up to the operation, we will give you additional instructions including which drugs and medications must be avoided. Surgery Day Is Finally Here On the day of your treatment, you should arrive early and in comfortable clothes. You do not want to be rushing around at the last minute on the way to surgery. Once you arrive at the surgery center or hospital, there will be paperwork you need to complete. Once the paperwork is completed, you will be brought back to the preoperative holding area. You will change into a surgical gown. You will put your belongings and clothes in a locker. Dr. Katzen will take the “before” pictures and draw on your body his surgical plan. An IV will be started. You will meet with your anesthesiologist, and any last-minute questions will be answered. You will be given medications to help you to relax, and then it is off to the operating room. In the Operating Room So you are on the gurney in the OR staring at the ceiling and waiting for what comes next. As the anesthetic drips in, you will slowly and painlessly drift off to sleep and go to your anesthesia vacation spot. While you are dreaming about laying on the beach with your new body, Dr. Katzen and his team will be hard at work. Dr. Katzen’s anesthesiologist will insert a breathing tube and place several more monitors. Dr. Katzen’s nurse will insert a bladder catheter and leg squeezers. Then, you will be flipped carefully and positioned face down on the operating room table. You will be padded appropriately. Dr. Katzen’s nurse will prep your skin with Betadine. Betadine is used to kill skin bacteria. Dr. Katzen begins the 360 circumferential lower body lift with your back. Dr. Katzen will incise, dissect, and remove excess buttock and hip skin and fat. Once everything is removed and lifted, drains are placed, and the incision is closed. You are flipped carefully on the operating room table and Dr. Katzen’s nurse will re-prep your abdomen with Betadine. Then, Dr. Katzen will continue the incision around the front to complete your 360 circumferential lower body lift. After the incision is made, Dr. Katzen will dissect from your lower abdomen to your ribcage and sternum. Your rectus abdominis will be tightened, and your abdominal skin will be pulled down and removed. Your belly button will be re-positioned on your new abdominal wall. The result will be a flat, tight abdomen. Once Dr. Katzen is finished, a garment or binder will be placed. Dr. Katzen’s anesthesiologist will give you reversal medication, and you will wake up slowly and pain-free. You can watch Dr. Katzen’s procedural video below:

Post-Op Immediately following the 360 circumferential lower body lift surgery, you will wake up slowly in the recovery room. You will be monitored for one to two hours as the anesthesia wears off. Ideally, you will spend two or more days in a recovery center. Dr. Katzen will prescribe pain medication to ease the pain and discomfort after surgery. With time, you will return to your routine. Since everyone heals differently and at a different rate, complete healing time varies significantly. To be sure you are healing well, you will follow-up frequently with Dr. Katzen. During the follow-up visits, if you opted for a pain pump, once it is finished, the pain-pump will be removed. During the post-operative period, you will monitor the output from your drains. Once your drains have stopped draining fluid, Dr. Katzen will remove them painlessly. Call Dr. Katzen Today Undergoing reconstructive plastic surgery after massive weight loss is a big decision.
